I don't
have this popular rose anymore because it would become so decimated
by blackspot during the summer months that I decided that it wasn't
worth it. It is a beautiful rose when in bloom, however, and I hear
that disease resistance is better in other parts of the country. It
apparently does not like the heat and humidity of the south.
If you
can combat the blackspot, Bonica is a very useful rose and can be
used in a variety of situations. I grew it as a low hedge and it was
quite beautiful in bloom. It is very floriferous and commands attention
when in bloom. It is also useful as an accent or container plant.
Royal
Bonica is a double sport with a slighter darker pink color.
