This
is probably my favorite floribunda rose and it is truly one of the
reddest of reds. Velvety red flowers bloom in clusters, covering a
stout bush that grows as wide as it is tall (no higher than 3 feet).
The flowers last a long time and they hold up well to the heat and
do not fade in the sun.
The leaves
are about as spectacular as the flowers, developing from a shimmering
burgundy color and aging to a glossy green. Disease resistance is
very good (powdery mildew in wet seasons is the only problem I have
encountered). This is an excellent rose for creating a low hedge or
for surrounding a fountain or statue. It is also beautifully effective
when grown with the white floribunda, Iceburg.
