Hardy
Gladiolus
(g.
byzantinus)
Hardy to Zone 5
Bloom Time - Summer
Color - Maroon, lavender, peach, pink
Foliage - Narrow blades
Size - 2-3 ft. tall
Exposure - Full sun
Culture - An old fashioned favorite and one that is often
overlooked these days. Don't confuse this with the regular large
flowered gladiolus that are not as hardy as this variety. I planted
a handful of these six years ago and they still perform beautifully.
Corms are very small and should be planted in early spring.
