This
beautiful rose is available from Antique Rose Emporium and is quite
a gem. Although ARE says that it is a "little rose" and
grows 1-3 feet, mine is pushing 5 feet. It makes a hefty but compact
bush and is covered with multi colored blooms in May. The color is
various shades of lavender with a yellow eye surrounded by white.
The colors change as they fade and the result is a dazzling display.
I suspect that Veilchenblau might have played a role in this roses'
parentage because the blooms remind me of it.
