The
Name of the Rose - Also known as 'Wilhelm."
A tall
and lanky hybrid musk which blooms quite well with bright red blooms
with yellow stamens in the center. Although it blooms profusely and
repeats well, the shape of the bush is somewhat unattractive and would
work better if placed in the middle of a border or a situation where
it will be surrounded by other plant. In other words, it does not
make an attractive specimen plant. Grows to about 5 x 4 feet.
Although
very beautiful in full bloom, disease resistance is only fair and
blackspot seems to be a given during the summer months. Japanese beetles,
which I've noticed in my garden for the past two years, also love
this rose.
