A sport
of the popular but disease prone rambler Dorothy Perkins,
Super Dorothy is more disease resistant and it has the added
attraction of reblooming. I've had this modest rambler now for three
years and I haven't had any disease problems. For ramblers, this is
not as agressive as most and is a good candidate for a large pillar
or archway. It is a good "weeper" as well and looks lovely
draping over a structure. The canes are thin and manageable and are
easy to twine around pillars.
The dark
pink flowers come in large loose clusters of 30-40 flowers. They hang
in a weeping fashion and would probably make a good weeping standard.
The color of the blooms will fade as they age. The blossoms have little
or no scent.
